On Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Western Maintenance Facility, Bloomington residents participating in organics recycling can take home up to 3 bags of compost. Bags weigh 40 pounds each.
New this year, residents must participate in the organics program (curbside or drop-off) to pick up compost. RSVP deadline has been extended! Residents must RSVP by Monday, May 6 at 11:59 p.m. to secure their compost as well as a designated timeslot to pick it up. This may help alleviate lines, and will allow the City to verify participation in the organics program.
The compost giveaway, funded through a Hennepin County grant, is intended to encourage participation in full circle organics recycling that begins and ends with residents.
