Compost Giveaway 2026

On Saturday, May 2nd from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Western Maintenance Facility, Bloomington residents participating in organics recycling can take home up to 3 free bags of compost. Bags weigh 40 pounds each.

Residents must participate in the organics program (curbside or drop-off) to pick up compost.
Limit of one compost pickup slot per household.
RSVP by Wednesday, April 29th at 11:59 p.m. to secure your compost and a pickup time. Please arrive any time within your 1 hour time slot as this helps alleviate lines.

The compost giveaway, funded through a Hennepin County grant, is intended to encourage participation in full circle organics recycling that begins and ends with residents.
